The Summer Poem

I like playing outside because I hear crickets.

Summer is a good time to hear birds too.

I can see birds.

We can cook outside.

I am happy in summer.

Summer is a good time to be outside.

I like summer because I can be outside.

I play on a trampoline with my sister.

I read under my tree.

I like being outside.

I can play with my friends because my mommy lets me.

Now the birds are flying south.

The leaves are falling off the trees.

You can’t cook outside anymore.

It’s time for fall.

Goodbye, summer!  I’ll miss you!

Vertebrate Project: Rats

  1. Rats can only live about seven years.
  2. They can chew everything.
  3. Rats mostly eat anything.
  4. Pet rats can sit in hammocks.
  5. They have long whiskers.

The Tunbridge Fair

I liked the sunflowers at the Tunbridge Fair.  The tallest one was sixteen feet high.  I was surprised that it go up to sixteen feet.  They are wide.  They had a lot of seeds.

Hope

I want to be a teacher.  I want this year to be calm.  I hope we will go exploring.

It’s Okay

It’s okay to have a pet rat.

It’s okay to have an imaginary doll.

It’s okay to like playing.

It’s okay to like trees.

Welcome to Your Blog!

Welcome to your blog. This will be a place where you will post pieces you have written. The audience for your writing will not only be students in your own classroom; it will include students in other elementary classrooms as well. Other trusted adults and students will comment on your writing, making suggestions that will help you to become a better writer.

Always post good writing to your blog. When you post comments about others’ writing, please be considerate and respectful as well as helpful. Treat other online members of this project the same way you would treat them if they were right there in the room with you.

You may not give out personal information, like your name, address, phone number, email address, or family information, to anyone – not even to other members of this project. When you work online on the internet, like we will be doing, it’s important to your safety that you keep personal information about yourself private – even if someone else asks.

If you ever see or read anything on your blog or someone else’s blog that disturbs you or makes you feel uncomfortable, please tell your teacher right away. She will know how to help.

Finally, be sure to let your parents know about this project. Every day, talk to them about what you’re doing and what you’re learning. They will be interested to hear about your new experiences!
