The Summer Poem

I like playing outside because I hear crickets.

Summer is a good time to hear birds too.

I can see birds.

We can cook outside.

I am happy in summer.

Summer is a good time to be outside.

I like summer because I can be outside.

I play on a trampoline with my sister.

I read under my tree.

I like being outside.

I can play with my friends because my mommy lets me.

Now the birds are flying south.

The leaves are falling off the trees.

You can’t cook outside anymore.

It’s time for fall.

Goodbye, summer!  I’ll miss you!

  1. Nice poem! You wrote that you like to cook outside. What’s your favorite thing to cook? I’ll miss summer too, but fall has it’s good things too. What do you like about fall?

Your picture looks yummy. Did you have a hard time finding an image you could use? What did you learn about copyright?

Keep blogging! I can’t wait to read more.

I like the ending of your poem. I like when you said the birds are flying South. Do you play outside even if it snows or if it is cold? Do you still go outside when it is raining? I like Summer too!

Hi Bunny Jumper, thank you for commenting. I do play outside when it is colder or raining. I like to play in the snow. I throw snow balls with my sister. We still jump on our trampoline in the winter!
